five.

"...when there is love you have nothing more to do. Then where you are, you have heaven; then all seeking comes to an end." - Krishnamurti

What is life? Peaks and valleys really. Dark days and sunshine. Hope and Despair. Joy and Pain. The one thing that makes it all worth it is sharing it with someone you love completely and who loves you completely. Five years ago I made a committment to share this life with my best friend. I'm looking forward to what more life has in store for us. 143 5117.

Jah Lil' Upsetta

Intense. Quiet. Alert. Curious. Irritated. Frustrated. Surprised. Insomniac. Warm. Cold. Stubborn. Gassy. Happy. Content.

All words to describe Mateyo's moods over the past month. Cindy and I just came back from his first doctor's visit and all is well. He is now registering an ounce or two under 8 pounds!! Bam! Jenny Craig can't eff with that right there. She said that he is progressing nicely, and he let her know wassup by subsequently peeing on her during the exam. That's my boy!

His "urine sure shot" tally now stands at: 3 nurses, 2 parents, Our bedroom window, 1 pediatrician, and about 100+ diapers.

He's breastfeeding like a champ. Sleeping during the day and catching the holy ghost at night. We also just discovered pacifiers...wow! what an invention. I read that it helps baby learn self-comforting methods, which is kinda like eating an ice cream sundae while watching Ninja Warrior, so I'm all for it.

Also wanted to send our love out to Wendell and Carolina who stopped by this past weekend to chat and pow wow about the birth of their upcoming baby. He/she seems to be in good hands already. Definite props also go out to the bay area folks who we ran into out in Pasadena recently (Dawn, Jesse, Allyson, Val, Mahalaya, Art, Claudine, and Timyas)...it was hella tight seeing y'all.

Anyways, I think Mateyo Kidlat will be resurrecting soon, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, check out my bro's blog for some cool imagery and itinerant musings.

where's my starbucks at?

mateyo is two weeks old today. cindy and I feel like we've been awake for two weeks.

things were relatively easy for the first week, as mateyo chose to sleep more and cry less. boy, did that change. last night was like diaper changing-feeding-burping marathon. at least he seems to be feeding well, pooping a lot, and growing plenty...which is all that matters.

cindy's mom noticed that he's already trying to lift his head up and roll over...all signs of an active baby who is ahead of the curve. one step closer to being a point guard for the lakers. trust.

marley is getting used to him too, as he'll go over there and give him a lick on the foot every once in a while. although, marley looks about as annoyed as anyone when he looks up with bloodshot eyes around 3am.

don't get me wrong...it's fun..and exhausting. ok..gotta get my soy mocha no whip before i pass out at work. laters.
